EastEnders fans are confused by Vincent’s dark exit – and have one big question
Vincent Hubbard appeared to meet a grisly end on EastEnders this evening after being kidnapped by Aidan Maguire’s goons.
Viewers were proved right about DI Franklin’s replacement, who was indeed too good to be true.
After managing to bundle him in the car with promise of protecting him against the Weatherfield gangsters, they drove recklessly through the Square and Vincent knew something was up.
Phil Mitchell rang someone up as he watched the car go by and said: "Listen, nothing too strong. Just scare him, yeah?"
A worried Kim then ran outside and asked Phil whether he had seen Vincent, to which he lied that he hadn’t.
Vincent was then seen being driven to a remote location and the car stopped. The man who claimed to have taken over from the detective then pulled out a gun on him.
"Maguire," Vincent said as the goon stared silently back. "I ain’t going to do this, yeah? I ain’t going to do this. That’s what I was trying to tell you back at the house, back at the Vic. My wife and I, we spoke and I ain’t going to do it no more.
"I just want to help out, I don’t…"
Vincent trailed off and went silent. He then seemed to compose himself as he looked down. But when he glanced up and appeared to kiss his teeth before nodding.
And viewers were left confused about what that look meant – and whether Vincent had been killed.
One tweeted: "Eastenders has left me confused, wtf is going on #EastEnders."
While another commented: "What was that ending?"
A third frustrated viewer remarked: "@bbceastenders #EastEnders WTF at that ending. Vincent dead or not? BTW I adore @Tameka_Empson and Kim Fox. I liked Kim and Vincent together."
