EastEnders fans are set to see more drama for Linda Carter (played by Kellie Bright) in upcoming scenes of the BBC soap. Last year Linda cheated on her husband Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) while he came to terms with the abuse he suffered as a child. Linda then turned to Max Branning (Jake Wood) for comfort at a time when she needed her husband the most. The mum-of-four has been able to keep the fact that Max is the baby’s father from her daughter, but in upcoming scenes, Linda has no choice but to confess her secret to Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean). However, her daughter, Nancy Carter (Maddy Hill) is growing more suspicious by the day but could she find out?
The Queen Vic landlady planned to leave Walford with Max but changed her mind when Mick finally told her the truth about Katy Lewis (Simone Lahbib).
However, the couple’s relationship may be over for good now that Linda has discovered she’s pregnant with her former lover’s child.
In scenes that aired last week, Linda finally came clean to Mick about the pregnancy and her infidelity.
She also fell out with her daughter Nancy when she interfered at her doctor’s appointment.
Linda was determined to change Nancy’s mind about having a sterilisation, and so she tricked her daughter into meeting with her consultant.
Nancy was furious with her mum for interfering with her doctor’s appointment and questioned whether Linda should have had children in the first place.
“I’ve only ever tried to be a good mum, put my kids first, look where it’s got me?” Linda told Mick after Nancy’s hospital appointment.
“Maybe next time I’ll get it right,” she added as the landlord hit back: “What do you mean next time?”
Mick continued: “What a baby? That’s amazing, this is what we need, this is like a fresh start for the family.”
“I’m five months pregnant,” Linda told him before finally coming clean that he wasn’t the father.
However, in scenes due to air next week, with their relationship already on the rocks, Mick’s daughter Frankie Lewis (Rose Ayling-Ellis) encourages Nancy to make amends with her mum.
As a way of building bridges with Linda, Nancy offers her a one-to-one personal training session at Sharon’s gym.
Linda tries her best to cover up her pregnancy, although, during the session, she pushes herself too hard and ends up collapsing.
Sharon and Nancy look after Linda as they wait for the ambulance and in the panic of it all she ends up confessing her secret to the gym owner.
Later on, Linda becomes worried when she realises she can’t feel the baby moving anymore.
At the hospital, the pub landlord reveals to a shocked Sharon that Mick isn’t the biological father – and that Max is.
If Linda decides to keep and raise the baby, Mick may struggle to cope with being reminded of his wife’s affair.
Linda is overjoyed when the doctors reassure her that the baby is fine, although, Nancy grows suspicious and knows her mum is hiding something.
The question is, will she confront her and find out what?
And if Nancy were to find out the truth behind her mother’s pregnancy, will it leave irreparable damage among the Carter clan?
EastEnders airs on Tuesday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
