Emmerdale fans baffled as they recognise Andrea Tate's mum from another hit soap
EMMERDALE viewers were baffled last night at where they knew Andrea Tate's mum from.
No-nonsense Hazel arrived in the Dales in Wednesday night's episode – played by Coronation Street legend Kate Anthony.
Kate, 57, is of course best known for playing 'Aunty' Pam Pam Hobsworth on the ITV soap from 2008 to 2012.
She also had a small role in EastEnders – completing the Big Three soap set – as Billy and Honey's doctor in 2006.
Last night, she was seen joining the congregation in the Dales for murdered Andrea's funeral.
But distracted fans had only one question, with one asking: "Why has Pam from #Corrie turned up? 😂."
Another tweeted: "Auntie Pam from Corrie in Emmerdale!" while another viewer replied: "That’s where I’ve seen her before."
Others felt she was in the wrong soap, writing: "Auntie Pam is joining Emmerdale when she should be returning to #Corrie? A travesty."
Hazel turned up at the village for her murdered daughter’s memorial service – and she took no time in putting Kim Tate in her place afterwards.
She told her: “What are you doing out here?” after the businesswoman left the service at the mention of Jamie’s death.
“I don’t trust you out here. I’m here to look after my daughter’s interests and stop you from doing any more damage.
“She loved Millie and she’d want me to keep her away from you.”
Kim told Hazel she couldn’t have Millie, insisting: “She lives with me at Home Farm. I have a great legal team with me.”
“That’s why Andrea made sure I’ve got the trump card,” said Hazel, staring Kim down.
“Before she died she named me as Millie’ legal guardian. She doesn’t belong with you any more."
As Kim looked away in anguish, she went on: “Your feelings don’t matter. When this memorial’s over, I’ll be taking Millie home with me and there’s not a thing you can do about it.”
