Emmerdale fans laugh at Dawn arrest twist as she ‘forgets’ Malone murder
Emmerdale viewers were left laughing during Monday night's episode when Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) was arrested.
Police turned up and took her to the station for questioning after she assaulted Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) last week.
And while Dawn was annoyed, she didn't seem at all worried that, just a few weeks ago, she killed DI Malone (Mark Womack) and has so far got away with it.
Taking to Twitter, viewers pointed out her hilarious reaction, noting it could definitely be a lot worse for her.
One said: "So moaning Dawn has been arrested but not for the crime she actually committed!"
Another wrote: "Assault ain't nothing when you committed murder Dawn, don't fret you'll be out in a jiffy."
A third tweeted: "Dawn's lucky she's only being arrested for assault not actual murder (yet)."
And another added: "At least it's assault and not murder Dawn."
Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) was terrified after Dawn was arrested – for obvious reason – but it turned out she had nothing to worry about.
She spoke to a former colleague at the station and found out that nobody was looking for Malone as he was presumed dead and there were no leads.
When Dawn was released, Harriet warned her: "You need to sort your temper, Dawn. Now more than ever."
She went on: "There's a chance all this could go away. Police think he's dead."
Dawn was surprised, but with Malone's dodgy history on the force and the enemies he's no doubt made during his time, the police were struggling to find any leads.
Harriet told her: "No one they can pin it on and that's good enough for them.
"Cain was right about the rumours going on. The case is cold."
Of course, this is soap land, and secrets don't stay buried for too long, so could Dawn find herself hauled back into the police station before long?
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays, on ITV
