Emmerdale star Ned Porteous confirms more heartbreaking Sarah Sugden scenes

Emmerdale star Ned Porteous has confirmed more heartbreaking Sarah Sugden scenes are ahead.

Although Sarah has agreed to have the heart transplant that will save her life, it seems as though her surgery will just be the beginning of her story.

Speaking to InsideSoap, Ned – who stars as Joe Tate – said: “Joe plans a masquerade ball at Home Farm.

“It’s a fundraiser for transplant awareness in aid of Sarah, who needs a heart. You can expect a fair few emotional scenes, as the harsh truth of Sarah’s situation is that it’s not going to get better in the space of a couple of weeks or months.

“I think the show is doing a good job of depicting the strain on a family when someone is that unwell.”

It comes after Matthew Wolfenden, who plays David Metcalfe, promised fans a “big twist” is on the horizon – and it’s going to be “absolutely brilliant”.

Teasing a dramatic conclusion to Sarah’s ongoing health storyline, Matthew added: “It’s coming up in three or four weeks. A big twist.”

Earlier this month, Charley Webb gave Emmerdale fans their biggest clue yet that Sarah’s story is far from over as she revealed she was set to shoot “more emotional scenes”.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
