Emmerdale viewers horrified over shock exit after Lachlan reveals victim

Emmerdale viewers were horrified this evening after Lachlan White told Belle Dingle that he had claimed another victim – her brother Sam.

Fans were horrified by the twist and said that the character, who has been played by James Hooton since 1995, "didn’t deserve" such an exit.

Belle’s harmless brother found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time as he stumbled upon Lachlan with a body in the boot of his car.

Later, Belle discovered a blood-soaked jacket and pleaded to know what had happened to Sam.

It was then that he dropped the bombshell – that he had killed Sam.

"I did this for you, Belle," he told her eerily. "Everything will be like it was before."

And viewers were devastated that the ITV soap appeared to have killed off such a major character.

Flocking to Twitter, viewers raged about Sam’s ‘death’.

One tweeted: "Sam Dingle does not deserve a murderous exit. He deserves to leave with the door open. Shame on #Emmerdale."
