Gemma Collins hot favourite to win Dancing On Ice after revealing her secret childhood skating experience with hockey player brother

The Towie star, 37, says she spent her childhood on the rink with her brother who was a hockey player.

Sources now say she may be crowned the second champion of the new look show after it returned earlier this year.

A TV source said: “Bosses are really impressed with her performance. She's put her heart and soul into it and is planning all her performances.

“She's literally training every day and completely embracing the ice.

“If she carries on like this she'll be the star of the show and queen of the ice.”

The GC was announced as part of the line-up for Dancing On Ice 2019 earlier this month.

She’ll join EastEnders star Richard Blackwood, cricketer Ryan Sidebottom, Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton and Love Island’s Wes Nelson.

The reality star, whose boyfriend is co-star James ‘Arg’ Argent, says she has been working hard and it’s paying off.

Speaking at last night’s ITV Palooza on Tuesday, she said: “My brother used to be a hockey player so we used to spend a lot of time at the ice rink.

“I’m really enjoying it. It is exhausting it is challenging. Obviously I’m not as fit as the other dancers. You sweat so much on the ice.

“Wait until you see me in January."

Gemma is also returning to Radio 1’s Teen Awards this Sunday after she went viral when she fell through a trap door.

She teased her return to the BBC bash and a dramatic entrance.

The GC said: “I have fallen a couple of times. If I can fall through the trap door at the Teen Awards through a trap door I’m not scared of falling on the ice.

“They’ve invited me. It’s going to be insane.”
