Hollyoaks hints at Glenn Donovan's downfall as his darkest secrets are exposed

Hollyoaks has hinted at Glenn Donovan’s long-awaited downfall as his darkest secrets were exposed tonight (August 20).

The closing moments of Monday’s first look episode saw Simone Loveday reveal the truth about Adam’s death, just as Maxine was convincing Grace that Glenn was abusing her.

Simone had learned the hard way about Glenn’s dark side after he blackmailed her with a recording of their earlier encounter.

After sleeping with Simone, Glenn threatened to show everyone the footage if she didn’t give him the school funding money he was demanding.

Horrified by Glenn’s actions, Simone decided to report him to the police, but was stopped in her tracks by her terrified son Zack.

Knowing all too well just how evil Glenn can be, Zack begged his mum not to get revenge on the villain – revealing how he’d killed his own son.

Although Zack desperately tried to convince Simone that Glenn wasn’t someone to mess with, it didn’t stop her from relaying the information to Maxine and Grace later on.

Coincidentally, Simone’s shocking discovery coincided with Maxine’s own realisation about Glenn, as she realised just how badly he had been treating Grace.

With Grace struggling after another nasty run-in with Glenn, Maxine was alarmed to see her friend so distressed and encouraged her to open up.

As the pair started talking, Maxine urged Grace to open her eyes to Glenn’s coercive control, but the duo’s heart-to-heart was soon interrupted by Simone.

Unable to keep quiet after overhearing their conversation, Simone insisted that Glenn was actually much worse than they thought – revealing that he’d killed Adam. Will Grace and Maxine believe her? And could this spark Glenn’s comeuppance at last?

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
