Huge TV star in frame to take over from Dale Winton on Supermarket Sweep
Rylan Clarke Neal is in the frame to host Super market Sweep when it returns to TV screens.
The This Morning showbiz presenter is reportedly being line-up to succeed Dale Winton, who sadly passed away this week at the age of 62.
There had been speculation that the much-loved presenter would be back to host the iconic series before news of his shock death was announced.
FremantleMedia, who acquired the global format rights to the series last year, confirmed "discussions are ongoing" ahead of the new series.
The popular gameshow, which originally ran from 1993 to 2001, is coming back for the first time since its temporary return for a special in 2007.
Rylan, who also hosts Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, would be a popular choice to front the comeback series.
FremantleMedia have yet to reveal who will be on hosting duties but have paid tribute to Dale, who presented all previous episodes of the show.
A spokesperson told Mirror Online: "We are very sad to hear the news about Dale Winton, he was a huge star who always put his fans first.
"He was very close friend of many at FremantleMedia and our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time."
Rylan would certainly have big shoes to fill if he is chosen to present the iconic show, which sees contestants dashing around a supermarket with a trolley.
Vasha Wallace, EVP, Global Acquisitions and Development, said last year: "The time is ripe to bring back this all-time favourite gameshow which has travelled with such success over the years. Now, modern technology allows us the opportunity to update the show, making it relevant for a 21st century audience.
"It is a great addition to this year’s MIPCOM slate and given the interest we’ve had already we’re confident that everyone will be as excited for its return as we are."
