I’m A Celeb’s Harry Redknapp reveals sick death threats aimed at his beloved wife Sandra from deranged football fans
In the star's book Always Managing: My Autobiography, he wrote about the horrific abuse aimed at his beloved spouse after he left Portsmouth for rivals Southampton.
Harry, who eventually went back to Portsmouth, wrote: "I would be out in my garden and I would hear the unmistakable accents. 'You f**king s**m Redknapp.'
"Sandra would hear it, too. 'Oh my God, Harry, what have you done?', she would ask.
"Then there were the phone calls. Wicked phone calls … real filth. 'I hope you crash your car and kill your wife; I hope your wife gets cancer.' It was too much. And Sandra was there."
The 71-year-old star added: "She never put any pressure on me to (quit). When her sister died of pneumonia in 2008, it was a sobering moment. The time I spend with Sandra is so precious."
Harry has spoken of his devotion to his wife in I'm A Celeb, and his son Jamie Redknapp has even promised to vote Harry out so that he be reunited with Sandra.
The football pundit told the Mirror: "I was actually really surprised when I found out he was going to be on it because he didn’t tell me, I read it in the paper.
He added: "He was like 'If I had told you, you would have told me off.'
"I’m going to try and vote him out. I want to get him to come home and see my mum and get him out of there.
“My mum is more nervous than anything as she misses him whenever they are apart.”
Ex West Ham manager Harry revealed his sons often tell him he’s won the lottery with their mum.
He said: “Jamie always says you won the lottery.”
