Kat delays her wedding in EastEnders for a showdown with Alfie – on a boat

Wedding bells are ringing out in EastEnders soon for the wedding of Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden). The guests and the groom are waiting at the church – but where is the bride?

After Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) turns up at Kat’s door just before the wedding wanting to rekindle their relationship, everything is thrown into turmoil. Alfie begs Kat not to marry Phil and to admit that she should really be with him. Meanwhile Sharon (Letitia Dean) is busy trying to convince Phil that she’s the love of his life and he shouldn’t be marrying Kat.

It’s a complex situation, but Kat and Phil both insist to their respective exes that the wedding is going to go ahead. Kat forces Alfie to leave, and he heads off back to his canal boat.

What he doesn’t know is that sons Bert and Ernie have hidden themselves in his van. Alfie calls Kat and tells her the boys are with him, which means she has to go and get them even though she’s supposed to be on her way to the church to get married.

When she gets to the boat, the twins are refusing to get off it and come with her to the church and the situation soon gets out of hand as Alfie seizes the opportunity to plead his case with Kat.

This September on #EastEnders the past and present collide.
