KATIE Price "feared the worst" during son Harvey's terrifying health scare and vows to work with a specialist to reduce his weight.

The 18-year-old, who suffers from Prader-Willi syndrome, was taken away from his sister Princess's 13th birthday in an ambulance after falling ill with a bug.

Earlier today, The Sun Online revealed Harvey has been allowed home after having tests on Monday – and even made it back in time to get a piece of birthday cake.

Now the extent of Katie's worry for her eldest son has been revealed.

"Katie was deeply concerned," a representative for Katie told MailOnline.

"Harvey had a temperature and presented chest pains – thankfully on this occasion his symptoms are that of picking up a common bug.

"But Katie did fear the worst – yesterday was a highly emotional day with Princess's birthday and then the sudden decline of Harvey’s health."

Katie is now planning to start Harvey on a "new regime" to help "reduce his weight.

Harvey has a range of complex needs.

As well as having the rare genetic condition Prader-Willi syndrome, which can cause weight gain and behavioural problems, he is also partially blind and on the autistic spectrum.

"Harvey's meds leave him with an insatiable appetite – Katie is constantly battling!" the insider said.

"But now, with the help of a specialist, Katie hopes to be able to help maintain Harvey's weight for the immediate future."

The Sun Online revealed yesterday that Harvey had been taken to hospital for tests, with a rep explaining: "He wasn't feeling well and has presented symptoms that require urgent medical attention.

"Katie recognised the signs and knew when to call an ambulance."

He was celebrating Princess – who is Katie's eldest daughter with Peter Andre – becoming a teenager yesterday at their rented Surrey home.

As well as Harvey, whose dad is footballer Dwight Yorke, Katie has Princess and Junior, 15, with ex-husband Peter Andre.

She also has two younger children – son Jett, six, and daughter Bunny, five – with Kieran Hayler.

Katie and Dwight dated in 2001 but split shortly before Harvey was born. Since then, she has claimed he has only seen his son a handful of times.
