Late night Corrie specials reveal killer twists and dramatic showdowns

Coronation Street is set to go late night at the end of the month as it brings some of its biggest stories to the forefront in a high week of drama. Not only will we find out who killed Rana Habeeb by collapsing the factory roof but Carla Connor (Alison King) will reach the edge – and this time it might be too late to save her.

As is ITV’s tradition, during a week of the Britain’s Got Talent finals, an episode of Coronation Street will fill the gap between the performances and results show. And as it’s Corrie’s task to keep the BGT viewers entertained as they await their champion, the big guns are set to get rolled out.

The week will see Carla’s psychosis grip her harder than ever and a special episode sees her take a journey through her own state of mind as viewers get an insight into what is going on in her head in an episode that escapes the usual soap format.

Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) will be hoping that he can save Carla from her desperate fate – but will this be the end of the line for her?

Meanwhile, the person who is truly guilty will finally be unmasked to the viewers, who have been waiting months for the pay off. But who is the real killer and when will the other residents of the Street discover their identity.

The big week of drama will also focus on some light hearted comedy for the Platt family which will soon descend into chaos and pressure mounts on the likes of Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Gary Windass (Mikey North) as their recent secrets and bad decisions come to light.

Schedules have confirmed that there will be a nightly episode of Coronation Street on ITV at 9pm from Monday 27th May until Friday 31st May.
