Max Bowden injured hand during violent EastEnders scene
EastEnders star Max Bowden has shared an insight into the consequences that stars are sometimes faced with when filming violent scenes.
Max’s character Ben is currently spiralling out of control, attacking homophobic men as he thinks it makes him feel safer.
Already Ben has put one man in hospital and last night, he approached someone he thought had laughed at Callum’s (Tony Clay) police poster that day.
However, after beating the man to near death, Ben was horrified to discover he had mistakenly attacked Peter Beale (Dayle Hudson).
On Monday, with his emotions increasing after seeing someone had defaced Callum’s poster, Ben released his anger by punching a locker in The Arches.
The scenes were very real and as Max explained, he ended up with a small injury after as he put so much effort into the intense scene.
Uploading a picture of his bruised hand to Twitter, Max wrote: ‘Occupational hazard from Mondays episode… two shattered knuckles and one big bruise. Playing Ben Mitchell is a joy. thanks for all the comments. Big couple of weeks incoming!’

Max’s comments at the end of the tweet are in relation to the fact Ben will soon be raped by newcomer Lewis (Aidan O’Callaghan).
Producers have been working closely with several charities, including SurvivorsUK, Survivors Manchester and the Male Survivors Partnership, to ensure it is covered sensitively.
Head of Continuing Drama, Kate Oates, said: ‘Through this story, we hope to explore issues of consent, sexual identity, masculinity, and sexual assault, focusing on how this fateful night impacts Ben and those who love him over the coming months.’
