Why Meghan Markle's Father Says His Daughter Is Suffering and His Strong Message For Prince Harry

Meghan Markle’s father has done another interview and this time he is attacking Prince Harry and the royal family as he believes that his daughter is suffering because of them.

Thomas Markle Sr. was at it again over the weekend talking to the press about the Duchess of Sussex and her in-laws with claims that he can tell she is having a very hard time adjusting to the demands of royal life.

“My thing about my daughter right now is that I think she is terrified,” Markle Sr. told The Sun on July 15. “I see it in her eyes, I see it in her face and I see it in her smile. I’ve seen her smile for years. I know her smile. I don’t like the one I’m seeing now. This one isn’t even a stage smile — this is a pained smile.”

The 73-year-old added, “It really worries me. I think she’s under too much pressure. There’s a high price to pay to be married to that family.”

Markle Sr. then questioned and criticized the royals’ dress code that his daughter has been following asking, “Why in 2018 are we dressing like the 1930s? Why do they have to cover their knees?”

The former lighting director admitted that he hasn’t had any contact at all with Meghan since the wedding last May and has become so concerned about her that he is considering flying to England to try and make amends.

“I want to see my daughter. I’m thinking about it. I don’t care whether she is pissed off at me or not,” he said. “I’m not going to wave flags and make a fool of myself. I’d find a hotel room and try to reach them.”

Markle Sr. also brought up those infamous staged photos again. Just days before the royal wedding, news broke that he had worked with a celebrity photographer for a quick payout to take some pictures of him near his home in Rosarito, Mexico. In the photos he was seen getting fitted for a suit, reading up on British history, and looking at online stories about his daughter and the prince.

He said he has already apologized to the royal family for the pictures, but still feels that he is being “shunned” and now has a message for his son-in-law: “Get over [it]. I’m your new father-in-law. My answer to the royal family is ‘I’m Meghan Markle’s dad, we’re a family now.’”

Just last month, Markle Sr. did a tell-all interview with Good Morning Britain about the former actress and her husband in which he gave his thoughts on their wedding ceremony that he missed because of health concerns. He revealed that both Meghan and Harry had conversations with him about all the media attention he was receiving and told him not to speak to the press.

It’s clear that he hasn’t followed that advice yet, however, he did claim that this latest interview will likely be his last one.
