Mick is comforted by Karen as he struggles with Shakil’s murder on EastEnders
Mick Carter will be left traumatised by Shakil Kazemi’s murder – and how he could have prevented it.
The EastEnders pub landlord had mistaken a dying Shakil for being drunk outside the Queen Vic and had ushered him away.
He then became distracted by other drunk revellers and went back inside the pub, closing the door behind him.
Shakil later collapsed by the bushes, out of view. Despite being rushed to hospital, the teen tragically died.
Mick had earlier managed to save Keegan’s life after finding him collapsed by the side entrance to the pub.
In heartbreaking scenes airing next week, Mick struggles over the guilt of not saving Shakil.
Mick sits in the launderette with Karen, who tries to comfort him.
Later, a teary-eyed Carmel turns up and Mick tries desperately to apologise for not saving her son.
Will Carmel be able to accept his apology?
