Neil the baby from Gavin & Stacey is now 10 years old and fans can't believe it

You might want to grab a chair for this one, because Neil – y’know, Neil the baby – from Gavin & Stacey is actually 10 years old now.

Somehow.

BBC Three brought this shocking news to fans’ attention on Twitter, leading the real-life mum of Neil the baby to share what he looks like now – and, disappointingly, it’s not a mini Smithy.

“This is Xmas Special baby Neil!” she wrote. “10 last Sunday!”

And this milestone didn’t slip James Corden by, who shared his own thoughts on the fact that Nessa and Smithy’s baby was born 10 whole years ago.

“Holy shit”, he mused as he shared the photos.

Perhaps this (admittedly scary) dose of nostalgia will prompt that much-wanted Gavin & Stacey reunion? Hey, we can dream.

After all, the iconic sitcom’s creators James and Ruth Jones are still very much in touch – and they’ve even been chatting about what Neil would be up to.

“James and I were talking about this the other day,” she told Lorraine earlier this month. “I was saying that baby Neil, who is now probably about 11, Nessa’s training him down the slots.

“She’s training him in the art of the dodgy grabber machine and all that kinda thing, and how to weight the two pences.”

We can just picture it now – and it looks crackin’.
