Our Yorkshire Farm’s Clive was ‘completely taken’ with Amanda Owen before split

Our Yorkshire Farm stars Amanda and Clive have been reminiscing about the first night they first met and Amanda joked that he shouldn't have "opened the door" to her.

The pair met in 1997 when Amanda was just 21 and working as a trainee shepherdess.

Clive was 42 years old and Amanda knocked on his door asking if she could borrow a ram.

Fans were left shocked when the couple announced that they were breaking up earlier this year.

In an episode of their Channel 4 show that was filmed before the dramatic split the pair were talking about their relationship fondly.

Amanda said: "This first time you and I met you it was a very dark evening."

"And I'd come to borrow a tup, remember?"

Clive said: "I do remember. This six-foot-something woman knocked at my door."

"He shouldn't have answered it, should he?" Amanda quipped.

Clive agreed, laughing and added: "But I was very taken with her, you couldn't not be."

The brunette beauty recalled how she and Clive – who had recently divorced his first wife and was living alone at the time – didn’t immediately hit it off when they first met.

Last year, she recalled in an interview with The Times: “I saw Clive, he invited me in, the house was trashed – the house is still trashed – we had a cup of tea, chatted for a little while, basic small talk, I got the tup and headed off again. Didn’t think any more of it.”

In a shared statement, which the pair shared on social media last month, they announced: “Clive and I have are sad to confirm that we have made the difficult decision to separate.

“This hasn’t been an easy, but we both believe it’s the right choice for the future of our family.”

“Although we are no longer a couple, we continue to work on the farm and co-parent together with our number one priority the happiness and well-being of our children.”

Amanda and Clive thanked everyone for their support and asked for privacy during this “difficult time.”

The Yorkshire Shepherdess and ex husband Clive share nine children together.

Amanda was recently spotted without her wedding ring for the first time at a fair in Warwickshire following her split.

This marked her first public appearance since she announced her separation from her ex-Clive after 22 years of marriage.
