Tommy Shelby (played by Cillian Murphy) was heartbroken when he realised Grace Shelby (Annabelle Wallis) had betrayed him on Peaky Blinders in season one. The pair later reunited and conceived a child before marrying after Grace’s first husband’s death. However, could Tommy have been involved in Clive Macmillan’s (Henry Garrett) death and have to face the consequences of his actions?

Two years after Grace left Birmingham, Tommy organised a reunion after learning she was in London.
Although she was married to Clive at this point, the pair couldn’t resist each other and shared a night together.
Grace told Tommy she had fallen pregnant at the end of the season and when the show returned two years had elapsed.
During this time, Grace gave birth to Charles Shelby and married Tommy after her husband took his own life but Peaky Blinders fans have questioned Clive’s death.

Discussing the matter, one Reddit user remarked: “All we’ve heard is ‘her family thought it was an accident, don’t tell them it was suicide.’
“Is that it? No other detail? Do we think Tommy had something to do with it?
“Or maybe Grace said, ‘Yeah it wasn’t me because I got knocked up after one time with another guy.’”
Could Tommy have been linked to Clive’s death during the two years missing from Peaky Blinders?
One fan explained: “When it was said I assumed that she left him, he found out the baby was Tommy’s and he killed himself.
“Then instead of the shame of all that happening, they made it look like he died in an accident? I don’t know just what I thought.”
But another questioned: “I still don’t understand this arc. Grace and Tommy married two years after she found out she was pregnant.
“Did she convince her husband that the baby was his and went on living with him?

“And when the baby was born, she told him the truth and he shot himself?”
A third remarked: “He found out he was infertile, that Grace had cheated and the baby wasn’t his. Tommy has only two-thirds of the blame; it’s fine.”
While someone else suggested: “I could see maybe his family trying to get revenge after his death?”
If Tommy was behind Clive’s death, his family could turn up in Birmingham to take down the Shelby brother.
Tommy has been haunted by his wife’s memory ever since her death but how will he react if he’s confronted by her past?
The Peaky Blinder blames himself for her death and Clive’s family could hurt him by telling him if she’d stayed married to her first husband she’d be alive.
Will Tommy have to face his past mistakes or will Grace’s memory continue to haunt him?
Peaky Blinders seasons 1-5 can be streamed on Netflix now.
