Prince Philip scoffs at ‘ridiculous’ suggestion he watches The Crown
Prince Philip scoffed “Don’t be ridiculous” when asked if he watched The Crown, according to star Matt Smith .
The outspoken 97-year-old Duke of Edinburgh is said to have made the remark during dinner with one of the actor’s pals.
The ex-Doctor Who played Philip in the first two series of the Netflix drama, which suggests his marriage to the Queen was rocked by his rumoured bedhopping.
Matt, 35, said: “A friend had dinner next to him and asked him if he’d watched The Crown and he turned around to him and went, ‘Don’t be ridiculous’.

“Apparently the Queen has but we don’t know. I’m pretty sure some [royals] have.”
Asked what questions he would have for Philip, the ex-Doctor Who said: “I wouldn’t ask him if he’d watched The Crown!”
Of the infidelity claims, he said: “[The Crown] creator Peter Morgan is adamant they’re common knowledge but I never really know. I made a choice about it when we made the show.”
The third series, with Tobias Menzies as an older Philip, is out next year.
