Riverdale season three – cast, episodes, trailers, plot, air date and everything you need to know

Oodles of sex, feuding families and the odd bit of murder. We can only be talking about Riverdale. The TV teen drama, based on the characters of Archie Comics, debuted in January 2017 and has already garnered a vociferous fanbase.

It was announced just recently that the show has been renewed for a third season, meaning more fun for fans is in store.

Here’s what we know about Riverdale season three so far…

In the US it airs on The CW, and outside the US, fans can watch it on Netflix.

Riverdale season three premiere: when’s it on?

The show was officially renewed in April 2018, so we can expect to see the third season debut in October 2018 (season two began in the same month the year before).

Riverdale season three cast: who’s in it?

Fans have been teased that one character might not make it out alive of the season two finale – with star KJ Apa (Archie) describing it as a “tragedy”. Read our speculation on who’s going to buy the farm here.

All this death might suggest at least one new face in its third outing, and we can probably assume from Apa’s comments that there may well be one less familiar face involved in the show.

Hopefully, though, we’ll see returns for KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart (Betty Cooper), Camila Mendes (Veronica Lodge), Cole Sprouse (Jughead Jones), Marisol Nichols (Hermione Lodge), Madelaine Petsch (Cheryl Blossom), Ashleigh Murray (Josie McCoy), Mädchen Amick (Alice Cooper), Luke Perry (Fred Andrews), Mark Consuelos (Hiram Lodge), Casey Cott (Kevin Keller) and Skeet Ulrich (FP Jones).

With production beginning shortly, fans might be treated to a sneak-peek after the second season finale.

Failing that, expect to see some new footage during the summer months.

Other Riverdale season three spoilers

The show isn’t scared to throw out the occasional and upsetting shock death so there might be more tears in store for fans.

If a character does die in the upcoming finale, as hinted, then there’ll be the inevitable fall out from that. And maybe some revenge thrown in for good measure.

Of course, there’s bound to be some more gang war, involving Archie, Hiram, Jughead and a whole host of enemies.

Perhaps we’ll get another musical episode or maybe even a crossover with another Netflix high school show also from Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina?
