Sheridan Smith's new fiance Jamie Horn turned down Love Island before getting engaged to the star

SHERIDAN Smith's new fiance turned down the chance to appear on Love Island before getting engaged to the actress.

Jamie Horn's mum, Sandra, has revealed how the insurance broker isn't interested in fame and is looking forward to settling down with Sheridan.

Sandra told the Mail Online how happy she is that they're together.

She said: "We'll be thrilled to welcome her to the family and I think they'll make a perfect couple.

"I'm just really happy for them.

"Both my son and Sheridan have wicked sense of humours and they get on exceptionally well."

She also said that although they started dating through Tinder a few months ago, they've actually known each other for years.

"When James first met her as a friend a few years ago he had absolutely no idea she was famous," she explained.

Jamie, 28, and his younger brother Alex, 26, were both scouted to appear on Love Island this year, but turned it down.

Sandra continued: "I'm so glad him and his brother turned down Love Island when they were scouted at STK earlier this year – shows you they are nice normal boys who just want to make it their way in the world.
