Spoilers: Yasmeen charged with attempted murder in Corrie after Geoff attack
Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) has been held in police custody following the attack on Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) in Coronation Street, but matters were complicated further during tonight’s episode, as — after the police questioned Geoff — she was charged with attempted murder.
With Geoff having woken up following the incident, he was prepared to speak to the police, and upon doing so, he wasted little time in painting Yasmeen as the abusive one in the relationship.
However, Alya (Sair Khan) showed up and confronted him over what’s transpired, and revealed to all those present that it’s he who’s been abusing and controlling Yasmeen — not the other way around.
During tonight’s episode, the police questioned Geoff about his past — and DS Abney (Fiona Skinner) found it a little odd that he’s allegedly been the ‘victim’ of three abusive women.
Back at the station, she questioned Yasmeen further, and presented images of Geoff’s neck wounds for her to see — something which resulted in Yasmeen breaking down in tears, as she revealed that she desperately wanted to see her husband in order to apologise.
However, it soon became apparent that this simply wasn’t an option, as she was later charged with attempted murder.
The question is: will the truth out?
Will DS Abney exhibiting some doubt — and Alya seemingly having convinced Sally (Sally Dynevor) that not all is as it seems in regards to what Geoff has said — here’s hoping justice will prevail!
Coronation Street continues Monday 11 May at 7:30pm on ITV.
