Star Wars' new Han Solo reveals how many movies he's signed up for
Alden Ehrenreich has let slip that he might not only appear as Han Solo in the upcoming Star Wars spin-off.
Before he signed up to Solo: A Star Wars Story, it seems Ehrenreich was aware of the commitment to the franchise, telling Esquire that he signed up to three movies. “I don’t know if that’s officially, uh, public. But – yeah,” he added.
Well, it’s certainly public now.
Ehrenreich also spoke about the very public change of directors on the movie which saw Phil Lord and Christopher Miller leave, replaced by Ron Howard, which he wasn’t aware of until it happened.
“They said, ‘We were let go’ and that’s it. They had mentioned there were some disagreements before, but they didn’t get into it. They wished me the best with the rest of the movie,” Ehrenreich reflected.
“On a personal level, it felt emotional, for them to be going after we’d set out on that course together. Because I spent a lot of time with them, and we had a really good relationship – they also cast me.
“But I think at that point, they were kind of on board with [the decision], too. Like, ‘This is what’s happening’. That’s not what they said to me, but that was the vibe I got.”
With Solo: A Star Wars Story in cinemas next month, Disney has recently been impressing audiences with its take on Han’s first meeting with Lando Calrissian over a game of Sabacc.
Solo: A Star Wars Story hits cinemas on May 24 in the UK and on May 25 in the US.
