Stranger Things season 3 begins filming as Millie Bobby Brown shares photo from set

Stranger Things season three has officially kicked off filming, so all those rumours of it never arriving – on Netflix, at least – can be put to rest at last.

The nation’s sweetheart Millie Bobby Brown confirmed shooting had started by sharing a photo of her and director Shawn Levy over on Instagram on Sunday (April 22).

“And so it begins,” she teased, giving fans a glimpse at Eleven’s newest look. (Or so we think, anyway.)

Of course, Shawn confirmed that filming for the hit series’ third season was imminent over the weekend, as well as revealing that the scripts for the next instalment aren’t actually finalised.

Explaining that the cast and crew have the first batches of scripts, Shawn said: “The rest of [the scripts] kind of get written as we shoot, as we edit, as we go.

“I’m once again directing the third and fourth episodes so that I can give the Duffers a breather, and send them back into the writing cave, so that they can buff out the rest of the season.”

Although some of it appears to be a literal work in progress, there are some elements of Stranger Things that are planned ahead – and the existence of season four is one of them.

Following Netflix’s denial that creators Matt and Ross Duffer were leaving the show after season three, Shawn Levy, again, confirmed: “Season four is definitely happening.”

Stranger Things season three is likely to arrive on Netflix in 2019. Seasons one and two are available to stream and download now.
