The Love Island Christmas reunion cast are to be paid just £10 an hour to appear on the show

Which is just as well — as winners Dani dyer and Jack Fincham, along with 19 others from the series, are being paid just £10 an hour to appear on the show’s TV Christmas reunion.

The contestants have been shocked to find their fees will be so little, with some saying they will end up spending that much on travel costs alone.

A source said: “They have been in uproar over being paid so little for two days’ work. It almost isn’t worth hours of awkward conversation with your ex — which for many of the islanders will be the case now.

“A few have even discussed dropping out to avoid any unnecessary aggravation. The low fees have also upset their agents, who are used to dealing with much bigger contracts.”

As I revealed last month, Caroline Flack will return to host the festive ITV2 special, with narrator Iain Stirling.

Islanders Georgia Steel and Sam bird will come face to face on camera for the first time since a very bitter split.

Sam confirmed Georgia’s disloyalty once and for all after discovering she had secretly stayed at her former boyfriend’s.

Ex-couples Laura Anderson and Paul Knops, and Ellie Brown and Charlie Brake will also have to film scenes together, as producers hope to create some awkward viewing.

Singletons Dr Alex George, Eyal Booker and Samira Mighty will also be back to reveal whether their luck has changed, as well as other dumped islanders.

Viewers will be keen to see how loved up Dani and Jack are after reports that constant rows have left the relationship in doubt.

Let’s see if there’s any truth behind all the loved-up Instagram posts.

Must watch

What? The Graham Norton Show, 10.40pm, BBC1.

Why? A stellar line-up in the shape of Nicole Kidman, Stephen Fry and Ruth Wilson grace the sofa for what will no doubt be a rollicking Friday night in, with gags from Joe Lycett.

Who’s up for a witch hunt

Jodie Whittaker is going to need a bigger Tardis with all of her Doctor Who guest stars.

For instance, there’s Alan Cumming doing his thing as King James I in this weekend’s episode.

The Olivier award-winning actor appears alongside Becka, played by Happy Valley’s Siobhan Finneran, in the BBC show.

After trips back in time to Alabama in the US and India, this week the Doctor stops off in 17th Century Lancashire where she finds herself embroiled in a witch trial.

To make things worse, the famous witch-fearing King James I turns up to witness proceedings.

Surely Doctor Who is under enough scrutiny as it is.

Rob Delaney and Sharon Horgan’s hit comedy Catastrophe is returning to Channel 4 in January.

It picks up after Rob’s relapse into alcoholism ended in a car crash and a forced confession to Sharon.

I can’t wait.

Nando’s is great for Prue

Prue Leith is a woman after my own heart.

The Bake Off judge admits she is partial to a cheeky Nando’s – and even favours it over her own chicken recipes.

The chef, who visits the High Street favourite to save on washing up, said: “I have tried to make a piri piri sauce and I’ve never got one as good as Nando’s.”

Chef Prue is also happy to use ready-made elements, as long as they are as good or better than those you could create yourself.

She said: “I believe there’s nothing wrong with using a ready-made element in your cooking if it’s as good as you could make.

“It’s like using ready-made puff pasty. My philosophy about ingredients is to buy the best. With meat I will spend quite a lot of money on getting grass-fed beef or free-range chickens but I won’t eat it very often, I eat mostly vegetarian.”

A spicy bean wrap it is then.

Bjorn too late

Nothing says millennial snowflake like wanting to be a musician but not knowing who ABBA are.

This year’s X Factor acts were given a masterclass by legend Benny Anderson, but Acacia and Aaliyah had no idea who he was.

I imagine we’ll view these two in the same way in a few weeks.
