The Walking Dead: Fans spot huge blunder with Beta’s Alpha mask ‘Why no cut?’

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the release date of season ten’s finale has been pushed back by AMC. However, The Walking Dead still managed to deliver some huge surprises as the zombie threat continues to evolve.

The latest episodes of AMC’s horror epic have finally introduced some highly anticipated elements from Rober Kirkman’s original comic book run.

Fan favourite Princess (played by Paola Lázaro) finally made an appearance, and the survivors will at last come into contact with Commonwealth.

In addition to these huge revelations, a teaser released at the end of the last episode confirmed the long-awaited return of Maggie (Lauren Cohan).

Despite fans preparing for a lengthy break between the recent episode and the finale, which is hoped to air later this year as a one-off special episode, episode 15, The Tower, made for an effective stand-in.

Eugene (Josh McDermitt), Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura) are introduced to Princess and attempt to figure out her eccentric personality.

Meanwhile, Beta (Ryan Hurst) is left to fend for himself after the death of his Whisperer superior, Alpha (Samantha Morton).

Hearing voices in his head, Beta heads to the hospital where the majority of the Alexandrian survivors have managed to flee.

As Beta struggles to maintain his sanity after the death of his leader, some fans have spotted a glaring error with his new look.

During the previous episode, Look at the Flowers, Beta stumbles across Alpha’s zombified head after Carol (Melissa McBride) sticks it onto a pike as an act of revenge.

Taking the opportunity to repair his zombie-skin mask, Beta slices off a section of her face to repair his mask, ensuring part of her is with him wherever he goes.

Despite his gnarly new look, fans have spotted the section of Alpha’s face Beta uses in his mask doesn’t quite line up with what happened to the dead Whisperer on the show.

Some fans took to Reddit to discuss what they think is missing from Beta’s new accessory.

Reddit user Internet_Exploder asked: “Why is there no cut where the knife went in?”

Other fans initially thought the fan could be referring to the wounds she acquired during her fight with Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

However, another commenter elaborated: “I think he might be referring to when Beta stabbed her to put her Walker head down. That was under her ear upward into her brain.”

During the final scene of Look at the Flowers, Beta decides to put Alpha’s zombified head out of its misery by plunging a knife into her skull to destroy the brain.

Although he gives the head quite a nasty wound, the scar doesn’t seem to be visible on his new mask.

Perhaps Beta managed to clean the wound and patch it up, but given his brutal reputation throughout TWD it’s not likely the Whisperer would have the skill to perform such a task.

Despite this oversight in costume design, Beta’s new look is even more gruesome and solidifies him as a terrifying antagonist as the series eventually moves into season 11.

The Walking Dead season 10 finale will air in 2020 on AMC.
