This Morning’s Dr Ranj takes swipe at Shirley Ballas for Strictly stint ‘Get my own back!’
Dr Ranj Singh, Shirley Ballas and Coronation Street’s Bhavna Limbachia were the three famous faces taking part in Celebrity Catchphrase tonight. No stranger to light-hearted, entertainment television, Dr Ranj’s stint on Strictly Come Dancing quickly became the centre of attention seeing as he was competing against the BBC competition’s head judge.
Stephen Mulhern kicked off the show in his typical manner, dishing out jokes to the celebrity panel of contestants.
When he got to Ranj, he couldn’t help but ask how he found his time on Strictly.
Stephen asked the This Morning star: “How did you find the whole Strictly experience?”
Ranj replied: “Honestly, it was like a dream come true for me.

“I’d never danced before and I actually fell in love with dancing, particularly Latin dancing.
“It was daunting, it was scary but I absolutely loved every minute.”
However, when Stephen asked him how he felt about going toe-to-toe with Shirley, he couldn’t help have a slight dig following her critique of him on the BBC dance contest.
Stephen asked the TV personality: “How do you feel about going up against Shirley?”
Dr Ranj replied, slightly tongue in cheek: “Do you know what? I might get a chance to get my own back!”
The This Morning star then shared a laugh with the audience before the competition got underway.
As the game kicked off, however, Ranj’s competitiveness appeared to subside as he fed Shirley an answer as she struggled.
Unable to come up with the answer to one of the puzzles, Ranj left his podium to whisper into Shirley’s ear.
Moments later, Shirley smashed her buzzer and gave the right answer of “get it off your chest.”
Stephen couldn’t help poke fun at the fact Ranj had gone again what he’d said earlier in the show.
The catchphrase host quipped: “Ranj says its time for revenge at the start of the show and now he’s giving her answers!”
Ranj did indeed go on to win the entire show and won £5,000 for his chosen charity.

The This Morning star competed on Strictly back in 2018 during the show’s 16th series.
He partnered up with long-serving pro dancer Janette Manrara in the hopes of winning the Glitterball Trophy.
Unfortunately for the pair, they bowed out of the contest at the midway point, becoming the sixth contestant eliminated.
This Morning continues every weekday at 10am on ITV.
