This Morning's Phillip Schofield says he's ‘anxious and scared’ to go out as lockdown lifts

PHILLIP Schofield has admitted he has been feeling "anxious and scared" about lockdown restrictions lifting.

The This Morning star, 59, opened up about his fears to viewers today and confessed: "I've jumped off the rails a little bit".

Phil said he is not scared of the virus after getting the coronavirus vaccine jab, but spoke candidly about feeling apprehensive to mix with people again.

The TV star shared his thoughts on Thursday's This Morning with Sian Williams.

The counsellor asked people at home to phone into the ITV show if they had worries about lockdown coming to an end.

Sian said: "Some people will perhaps be feeling a little bit of anxiety about lockdown easing," to which Phil replied: "I am! I was saying to Gok (Wan).

"Now, Gok is Mr Party and he is going to take me under his wing and look after me.

"I was fine until maybe about three months ago and then I feel like I've jumped off the rails a little bit.

"You lose momentum and you get a bit scared."

He added: "It's not that I'm scared about the virus, it's just the fact that I'm not used to going out."

It has been a huge year for the presenter, who came out as gay in February 2020.

He then moved out of the Oxfordshire home he had shared with his wife of 27 years.

Although his hometown is Lancashire, he lived in Oxfordshire before reportedly moving into a flat in London after announcing his sexuality on This Morning last year.
