Tipping Point fans were left cringing as a 'fit' player made a simple alphabet error on today's show (September 15).
The new episode welcomed a contestant called Tom, who viewers deemed conventionally attractive.
The Hampshire-based electrician was leading after the first round but swiftly crumbled under pressure.
Host Ben Shephard asked: "In the English alphabet, which letter comes between P and R?"
Tom incorrectly answered "S" when the answer was in fact "Q", leading to scorn from viewers.
One wrote: "Good to know that Tom doesn't know his alphabet, but DOES have half a haircut. Obviously has his priorities right."
Another commented: "Did this guy really just prove to the whole nation that he doesn't know the alphabet?"
A third replied: "Tom is not the new Chaser."
A fourth added: Oh dear. Still, he has nice teeth & lovely hair."
"Tom on today's Tipping Point is easy on the eye," another flirty viewer commented.
Tom appeared embarrassed by his own blunder and could be seen snorting to himself after making the glaring error.
He went on to answer a number of other questions incorrectly, including mistaking Fatboy Slim for Calvin Harris.
Tom also didn't know fire was the astrological element associated with the star sign Leo but surprisingly made it through to the next round.
He was eventually bested by primary school teacher, Billie.
Based in Oxford, Billie was the lucky contestant to make it through to the final round.
