Toby Jones teased by Chris Evans as he admits he failed coach test two times despite driving one in new show
TOBY Jones was teased by Chris Evans today as he admitted he failed his test to drive a coach two times – despite driving on in his new show.
The actor, who is playing a coach driver on Don’t Forget The Driver, revealed he didn’t have a license to an amused Chris Evans on his Virgin Radio Breakfast Show today – as the DJ boasted that he had one.
He said: “My coaching instructor said to me Chris Evans came and trained here.
“I went out there to do that and failed it once and then failed it again and thought about failing it a third time but had to carry on shooting.”
Chris then asked him: “Do you have a PCV ( a coach driving licence)?”
He replied: “I can drive a coach but I don’t have the license.”
Laughing Chris replied: “That is like saying I can perform brain surgery but the patient might die!”
Toby continued: “I know how to drive the coaches but they failed me twice for doing too fast the first time and too slow the second time.
“I was really angry about it. I don’t have any reason to drive a coach. They said you have got to take it again , and I said have I. I should, I want to pass it but there’s no point I’ve done the show.”
Rubbing it is Chris added: “I love driving a coach.”
Toby replied: “Don’t go on about it!”
Toby’s latest role sees him playing Peter in new BBC comedy drama, called Don’t Forget The Driver.
Peter is a coach driver who finds a dead body on the beach in Bognor Regis, which changes the course of his life forever.
Don’t Forget the Driver airs on Tuesdays at 10pm on BBC2 starting tomorrow.
Chris Evans welcomes high-profile celebrities to The News Building where his show airs from 6.30am to 10am.
