Victoria Beckham's best friend Eva Longoria jokes the Spice Girls begged her to replace Posh after she snubbed the tour
The Spice Girls announced their reunion without Victoria last week.
Eva told US Weekly she was ready to step in for her best pal Victoria.
The Desperate Housewives star, who is clearly desperate to be a singer, joked: "Well, I didn’t want to say this, but they did ask me to be Latina Spice!”
The new mum, 43, was speaking at the Eva Longoria Foundation Dinner in Beverly Hills last Thursday when she added: “They did ask me to do this.”
Eva and Victoria have been close friends for over a decade.
Spice Girl turned fashion designer Victoria, who scooped the fashion icon award at the People's Choice Awards 2018, even designed Eva's wedding dress when she married husband José “Pepe” Bastón in May 2016.
She was there to support her pal when she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in April, and the two were chummier than ever at the annual Global Gift Gala event last month – a charity function they attend each year together.
Victoria hit headlines after she snubbed the reunion that will now go ahead with her bandmates Mel B, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner.
The mum of four, whose focus has been on her fashion empire rather than reforming the iconic band whose hits include Wannabe, stole the show at the People's Choice Awards 2018 as she bagged the Fashion Icon gong in front of a star-studded audience.
Victoria was praised for her speech – which referenced Spice Girls lyrics – as she took to the stage at the glamorous event held in Santa Monica, California.
She broke her silence for the first time since the Spice Girls reunion to admit she was more focused on "empowering women" through her fashion label, than Spice Girls' "girl power".
And she continued to distance herself in her widely-lauded speech after accepting the special award.
She said: "Ten years ago I embarked on the most exciting, nerve-wracking and all-consuming vision and to have that recognised here tonight is just incredible.
"I always told myself: dream big and then dream even bigger. I wanted to show if I can do it then really anyone can do it. What you can achieve can really be limitless."
