ALAN Carr has risen to stardom over the last decade, cementing himself as one of Britain's leading chat show hosts and TV presenters.

Known as the Chatty Man, he is back on our screens with the third season of his Epic Gameshow.

Who is Alan Carr?

Alan Carr, 46, was born on June 14, 1976, and is an English comedian and TV star.

He was born in Weymouth, Dorset, and spent most of his childhood in Northampton before moving in his early 20s to Manchester, where he began his comedy career.

The Chatty Man's breakthrough was in 2001, winning the City Life Best Newcomer of the Year and the BBC Best New Stand Up Awards.

In the years that followed, his career flourished on the Manchester comedy circuit before he shot to fame hosting The Friday Night Project with Justin Lee Collins.

After the success of the Friday Night Project, Alan went solo and hosted Alan Carr's Celebrity Ding Dong in 2008.

Following this, he fronted his own comedy chat show Alan Carr: Chatty Man, which aired on Channel 4 between 2009 and 2016.

He has also done three successful stand-up arena tours: Tooth Fairy Live (2007), Spexy Beast Live (2011) and Yap, Yap, Yap! (2015).

Alan also appeared on the Celebrity edition of the Great British Bake Off in March 2018 on Channel 4 which was in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.

A big dog lover, he presented Channel 4's coverage of Crufts 2018 – appearing alongside Clare Balding – the pair also made a cameo in Hollyoaks.

In 2019, he was confirmed as the first star to be offered a spot on the 2019 series of Strictly, but did not take the offer on.

In 2021 Alan took over as host on Interior Design Masters, then in 2022 he returned with the third season of his hit ITV show, Alan Carr's Epic Gameshow.

As of June 2022, Alan Carr is single and does not have any children.

The TV star split from his husband Paul Drayton in January 2022.

They had been together for 13 years and married for three.
