Will There Be a 'Falcon and the Winter Soldier' Season 2? Here’s What Sebastian Stan and Kevin Feige Say
Marvel’s newest Disney+ series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has been well received by fans both new and old. Starring Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, and Wyatt Russell, the show picks up after the events in Avengers: Endgame and answers questions about who will replace Chris Evans as Captain America.
Even though The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has been wildly popular, there are only six total episodes for fans to watch. Knowing this has left many fans wondering if there will be a second season of the show, but unfortunately there are few answers.
Sebastian Stan says he hasn’t heard anything about Season 2 of ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’
Stan, who plays the Winter Soldier, recently spoke with Collider about the possibility of another season, claiming he and Kevin Feige hadn’t spoken about it.
“No, we have not, and I’ll tell you that honestly, we have not,” Stan said. “As per usual, I don’t quite know what the next step is,” Stan said. “We never really do. Maybe some people do, maybe [Robert] Downey [Jr.] used to know, I don’t know.”
He says he’d ‘do anything’ Kevin Feige wants him to do
Even though Stan hasn’t heard anything about future seasons of Falcon and the Winter Soldier, he noted that he’s willing to “do anything” for Feige, regardless.
“At this point in my life, 11 years into it, I don’t even—I got on the phone with him just to catch up, and I was saying to him, ‘Dude, …. I’ll do anything.’ Like, it doesn’t matter,’” Stan said. “Or if this is it, my heart is just as big, you know?
Stan is so grateful for everything The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has already done for him that he doesn’t feel pressed to continue the show.
“I have nothing but complete, utter gratitude for the opportunities that I’ve gotten from him. And especially just also that Anthony [Mackie] and I have gotten, now with the show again, on my end, to yet again reinvent this character, find new nuances about him. So it’s already kind of a win in so many ways for me.”
Kevin Feige doesn’t have an answer either
In a separate press conference, Feige also spoke about the future of Falcon and the Winter Soldier. According to Deadline, Feige wasn’t willing to divulge many details either.
“We get asked (that question) much more in television, because people expect it to be like what they know before: Where’s season 2?” Feige said. “We approached it like the movies: We better make this great, because we won’t be able to do another one.”
During the same conversation, Feige admitted that there are “ideas” on the backburner if the show does get another season.
“If we were able to do another one, there’s certainly ideas. The slight difference of course… like with WandaVision, they really will go back and forth between the Disney+ series and the movies… sometimes will be a Season 2, sometimes will be a feature.”
