Amazing cloud snap shows there’s a silver lining for UK – The Sun
A RETIRED NHS worker snapped spotted a silver-lining for the UK when he snapped a cloud shaped like the British isles.
Pete Austin, 68, was having a cup of tea with his wife Jane, 67, when he locked eyes on the unusual formation out of their kitchen window in Higham Ferrers, Northants.
SILVER LINING
He dashed into the back garden and snapped a picture on his iPhone before the clouds floated away.
Mr Austin, who shared the pic online, said the uplifting image was a sign there is “light at the end of the tunnel” as Britain fights the coronavirus crisis.
The retired NHS care manager said: "I was chatting to Jane at the kitchen table when I glanced out the window and saw this familiar shape in the sky.
At a time when the country really needs some hope, I like to believe it showed that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
"I said 'that's the British Isles in the clouds' and the sun was behind it creating an almost silver-lining on the outside.
"I grabbed my phone and went outside and just had time to take one shot before the clouds moved and the shape was gone.
"At a time when the country really needs some hope, I like to believe it showed that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
"As a former NHS worker I understand just how hard the health service staff are working. This is a torrid time for the country but we'll get through it."
