Get Knitted! Artist creates lifelike sculptures of people and recreates scenes using just wool
A Finnish artist creates incredible life-sized replicas of people, using just wool.
Liisa Hietanen, 36, knits life-like everyday scenes including people, bathrooms, food, and trees.
The artist, who has been knitting since she was ten, uses steel rods to make the frames for the models, and adds in details using wool.
Liisa, from Hämeenkyrö, Finland, told the Sun: ‘I ask people to model and we meet and create the pose.
‘I photograph the person from all directions and take measurements.
‘We might go for coffee. Meanwhile, I study their characteristics.’
She added her subjects are often left ‘stunned’ by her work.
