But it could be a while yet before Brits are able to get away, with the lockdown almost certain to be extended and the Government urging people not to travel abroad "indefinitely".

The cabin fever has been made even worse for many over the last week as a mini-heatwave brought glorious sunshine to much of the UK.

However, one group of inventive Brits decided to make their holidays come to them – by recreating a Benidorm’s Tiki Beach Bar in their garden.

A snap shared on social media shows the incredible set-up tacked onto the back of the house.

Two people can be seen grinning as they sip a drink amidst the clever reconstruction of the famous outdoor watering hole.

There’s a bar on the left, with a dartboard and various decorations adorning the walls.

And it has a long, high table surrounded by comfy-looking padded bar stools – with Tiki’s famous logo on a huge flag pinned to the house’s back wall.

It’s not clear where the photo was taken, but it was widely shared on social media this week – and Benidorm enthusiasts absolutely loved it.

One person wrote: “If we cannot get to Benidorm we can bring Benidorm to England. Well done to the people who made this!”

Another posted: “Wooooow look how cool that is.”

A third posted: “Good on you. Enjoy yourselves, keep safe x”

And one joked: “Are the neighbours complaining? Just to add to the authenticity.”

Meanwhile, the real Benidorm has been left a ghost town after Spain too – like much of Europe – was put on coronavirus lockdown.

Shocking pictures show the holiday hotspot’s normally bustling bars and beach completely deserted, apart from soldiers and cops policing the curfew.

The country has been much worse hit than the UK, with 14,792 deaths and 148,220 confirmed cases of the deadly bug.
