Eight people shot in latest round of NYC gun violence, cops say
Eight people — including three teens — were shot in separate incidents across Gotham on Tuesday, according to preliminary numbers released by police Wednesday.
Most recently, a 15-year-old boy was shot once in the leg at Seaview Avenue and East 99th Street in Canarsie around 9:10 p.m., cops said.
The suspect opened fire from a white SUV, according to police.
About 10 minutes earlier, an 18-year-old man was shot in the cheek during a dispute on West 24th Street near Surf Avenue in West Brighton Beach, cops said.
The suspect also fired from inside an SUV, a gray BMW, according to police.
The victim was taken to Maimonides Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Around 8:20 p.m., a 35-year-old man was shot once in the buttocks on Sterling Place near Rochester Avenue in the Weeksville section of Brooklyn, police said.
The shooter, who cops say had a heavy build and was wearing a white shirt, bolted on foot.
And around 5:15 p.m. on Nicolls Avenue near 46th Avenue in Corona, a 17-year-old boy was wounded during another drive-by shooting.
He was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst with non-life-threatening injuries.
Cops say the shooter was inside a gray SUV.
Five victims were shot in four separate incidents on Tuesday’s date in 2019, a Sunday.
There had been no shootings reported Wednesday as of early afternoon.
