G20 memes sweep the internet as fake pics attempt to show Putin, Trump and Merkel in some VERY compromising situations
HILARIOUS G20 memes have swept the internet after the gathering of world leaders last week.
The heads of governments from 20 industrial and developing countries met in Hamburg, Germany, on July 7-8, prompting massive protests and intense news coverage.
After the G20 summit, social media was filled with fake pics attempting to show Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump and Angela Merkel in some very compromising situations.
One doctored snap appears to show the Russian president surrounded by other world leaders who are getting a little too close.
Among those seemingly leaning in towards Putin are the US president on one side and Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the other.
The scene mirrors one from the musical Grease, starring John Travolta, during the song Summer Nights.
The image was tweeted with a line from the song which reads: “Tell me more, tell me more, did you get very far?
“Tell me more, tell me more, like does he have a car?”

But other social media users soon cottoned on to the fact Putin had been superimposed in the middle of the shot.
Another picture showing the US and Russian delegations meeting has been edited to remove Trump and replace him with Chris Christie, who stood against him for the Republican presidential nomination.
The image shows Christie sitting in a foldable chair in his beachwear.
It was tweeted with the caption: “It could've been Christie.”
Many of the memes also feature real photos with comical captions or speech bubbles.
One which was used over and over again shows Merkel with her head in her hands as Trump speaks in her direction.
Another shows the pair shaking hands for the cameras – but both leaders have terrified looks on their faces.
And a clip being widely shared appears to show Angela Merkel rolling her eyes in frustration as Putin seemingly attempts to explain something.
