Girl, 7, loses arm to GANGRENE after horror beatings by sadistic aunt who burned, cut and bit her

A SEVEN-year-old girl got GANGRENE and had to have her arm amputated after months of sadistic beatings by her aunt.

Makka Ganieva, 36, dished out savage punishments that left the youngster covered in cuts and burns, a court in Russia heard.

The girl, who was then aged six, was sent to live with Ganieva after her mother fell on hard times, according to reports.

Details of the abuse she suffered in the following months only emerged when the aunt took her to hospital with a swollen arm.

Horrified doctors diagnosed her with gangrene in the right forearm, as well as burns, bites and knife cuts all over her body.

Ganieva failed to explain the origin of the girl’s injuries so medics reported her to the police in Sunzha, southwestern Russia.

She is said to have confessed to detectives that she broke her niece’s arm during a beating.

But she only took her to hospital several days later when the arm "became cold and lifeless", investigators said.

The girl was transported to Moscow with a high fever and underwent partial amputation of her right arm.

Doctors say the girl now needs years of psychological therapy after her trauma.

Further investigation revealed horrific details of the girl’s seven-month stay with Ganieva.

She tortured the child by pressing her against a hot stove and cut her with knives and scissors, the Sunzhenskiy District Court was told.

Prosecutor Maksharip Dobriev said to local media: “Ganieva beat the girl up for any mistake from December 2018 until July 2019.

“As a result of the beatings, the girl suffered serious bodily injuries which led to the amputation of a part of her right arm.

“The accused was found guilty by the court.”

Ganieva was sentenced to six years in jail after being convicted of grievous bodily harm and child cruelty.

The child's mother thought she would have a better life with the aunt after she faced financial troubles, she told local media.

The mother, who said she deeply regrets the decision, added: “The sentence is too mild.

“(My daughter) suffered from long-lasting abuse and received a severe psychological trauma.

“Her physical condition is still not well. She needs years of rehabilitation.”

Mum-of-two Ganieva never hurt her biological children, neighbours said.

In May, a couple were accused of torturing their three-year-old daughter after going on Russia's equivalent of the Jeremy Kyle show and claiming her bruises were inflicted by a toddler sibling.
