I-25 closures Wednesday and Thursday south of Denver – The Denver Post
Interstate 25 is closing overnight Wednesday and Thursday for construction near Monument.
The Colorado Department of Transportation is installing a new bridge girder at County Line Road (Exit 163). The closure of the southbound lanes Wednesday night and northbound lanes Thursday will each begin at 8 p.m. and wrap up before 5 a.m.
The closures come as part of the 18-mile I-25 South Gap project between Monument and Castle Rock, widening the highway from two to three lanes in each direction. The $419 million project is slated to finish in November 2022, with CDOT saying it is on schedule and on budget.
To get around the closure, here’s what CDOT will have you do:
Wednesday: Traffic will detour via the off and on-ramps. The County Line Road bridge across I-25 will be closed. For local access, use CO 105 via the Monument Hill Frontage Road.
Thursday: Traffic will detour via off- and on-ramps. For access to southbound I-25, go north on I-25 and turn around at Greenland Road, or use CO 105.
The County Line Road bridge was built in 1964 and is one of five bridges being replaced along the 18-mile stretch of road.
