Los Angeles shooting ‘leaves one dead’ as cops surround home in Harbor Gateway – before 'arresting wounded suspect'
The shooter, who is believed to have been wounded, has been arrested at the home in the Harbour Gateway area of the city.
Fire crews were on the scene fighting a blaze when they heard six gunshots ring out forcing them to take cover.
According to local reports, a woman, who is related to the suspect, has been killed
The shooter is said to have "given up", is bleeding and has been arrested, according to Fox LA reporter Gigi Graciette.
Other reports claim the suspect has a wound to his stomach and was stretchered out of the house at 6.30am local time.
Pictures from the scene show a large number of police officers including heavily-armed SWAT team members.
Residents in the area were evacuated from their homes as cops battled the gunman in the city which has a long history of gun violence.
Police officers used a huge fire truck as a shield while exchanging bullets with the shooter, reports CBS.
It is not currently clear if the fire has been extinguished.
