Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton could meet for first time since ‘rift’ as Posh invited them to Brooklyn's wedding

MEGHAN Markle and Kate Middleton could meet for the first time since their alleged rift at Brooklyn Beckham's wedding, it has been reported.

Victoria Beckham is said to have invited both the Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge – along with their husbands – to her son's wedding to actress Nicola Peltz in 2022.

Victoria, 46, tightened her bond with Meghan this year after the Sussexes quit the UK for Hollywood, the Mirror reports.

Brooklyn's star parents are friends with both royal couples and were guests at their weddings.

But the Sussexes and the Cambridges are understood to have barely spoken to each other since March, when the couples attended the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey.

ROYAL INVITE

A source told the Mirror: “Vic’s been helping Meghan with her move to LA and Meghan has helped promote Victoria’s fashion line.

“But Vic’s been worried about inviting Meghan and Harry alongside Kate and William to the wedding.

“She is not only worried about how they all might feel about being thrust together but also at how the attention will no doubt be diverted off Brooklyn and Nicola.”

They added: “David’s urged Vic not to stress about it and has insisted the royals will all know how to handle the situation.”

Brooklyn was due to tie the knot late next year, but has now postponed the big day until 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 21-year-old is planning to throw two events with 25-year-old American actress Nicola Peltz — one on either side of the Atlantic.

It is unclear which event the royals have been invited to, and whether they will choose to attend.

ROYAL RIFT

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit the Royal Family earlier this year amid speculation of disagreements with other members, including Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Rumours of a royal rift between Meghan and Kate began when it was claimed the pair do not get on because they're "very different people".

It has since been claimed that Meghan left Kate in tears over her demands for Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress.

They are also said to have clashed over a pair of tights in the lead up to the Duchess of Sussex's wedding.

In a further blow to the royals' rocky relationship, Harry, Meghan and their son Archie will not return to the UK for Christmas, meaning the Queen will not be able to spend time with her great-grandson.

Meghan and Harry had planned to come to the UK back for Christmas, but are now understood to be remaining in the US, The Sunday Times reports.
