‘Momentous victory’: Carter and Clinton congratulate Biden, Harris

Former Democratic Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton praised Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for their historic win Saturday, which appears destined to relegate President Trump to a one-term leader.

“America has spoken and democracy has won. Now we have a President-Elect and Vice President-Elect who will serve all of us and bring us all together,” Clinton tweeted. “Congratulations to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on your momentous victory!”

The Carter Center also released a statement on behalf of Carter who led the nation between 1977-1981 and is a member of the unlucky club of one-term presidents which Trump now joins.

“Rosalynn joins me in congratulating our friends President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris,” Carter wrote.

“We are proud of their well-run campaign and look forward to seeing the positive change they bring to our nation,” he went on.

Congratulations are pouring in for the former veep and Harris who will become the nation’s first female vice president.
