The sandy spit it is on is so isolated it requires a 20 minute walk, a ride on a novelty land train or a short ferry ride to get there.

But the new owners will be rewarded with spectacular sea view across Christchurch Bay to the Isle of Wight – quite a change of scene from 1940, when Mudeford Spit was dominated by metal sea defences in case of a Nazi invasion.

The owners can also stay overnight in the huts from March to October.

For the £285,000 asking price, you could buy a four-bedroom semi-detached house in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, or a five-bedroom detached house in Runcorn, Cheshire.

As well as the hefty purchase price, the new owners will have to pay annual rates to Christchurch Borough Council of about £500 and a licence fee (ground rent) of about £2,500 a year.

Charlie Dancer, from Denisons estate agents, who are handling the sale, said: ‘This is a lovely hut, it’s been done really well. The kitchen is nicer than you would find in a lot of houses and it’s been finished to a really high standard.

‘It’s immaculate inside. You have got a big mezzanine floor with plenty of space for sleeping upstairs.

‘It has a speaker system wired into the hut and it’s connected to the solar panels so you can keep track of your battery level and the intake of the solar panels.

‘There’s LED lighting, a water heater, which is quite unusual to have in these huts, and it is one of the only ones I know that has a toilet, which is very handy in the middle of the night.

‘It’s all quite fancy and done very nicely.

‘To have the speakers and all the gadgets is quite unique for the beach huts. It’s got everything you could want or need really.

‘This one is on the harbour side, so you’ve got really nice harbour views and you get lovely sunsets there. You’ve also got the added benefit you can have boats and kayaks in front of you and can launch straight onto the water from there.

‘The huts at Mudeford are completely unique, there’s nothing else like it I have seen anywhere in the country. When you get there, you almost feel like you’re abroad – especially when we get the nice weather there. It is a lovely spot.’
