Mystery Euromillions £40m lottery jackpot winner comes forward to claim prize months after draw – The Sun
A LOTTERY winner has come forward to claim £40 MILLION – four months after the draw.
The mystery ticket-holder had initially failed to make a claim for the cash, sparking a nationwide hunt by lottery officials.
Time was beginning to run out, with the winner having until just May 31 to make their claim.
But now officials have confirmed the person who bought the ticket has finally stepped forward.
The ticket was bought at a shop in Dorset ahead of the EuroMillions draw on December 3 2019.
No further information about their identity has been released, but the winner has claimed one of the biggest prizes since the draw began.
A HUGE WIN
Camelot's Andy Carter, who advises National Lottery winners on how to manage their money, said: "We're delighted that the winner of this amazing prize has now come forward and that they can start to enjoy their huge win.
"Players should check their tickets every time they play, wherever convenient.
"Remember you can always check online or via The National Lottery App."
Camelot had issued a number of calls for the winner to come forward over recent months.
The ticket-holder had matched all five main numbers and the two lucky star numbers.
The winning numbers were 18, 31, 32, 38 and 48, with Lucky Stars 04 and 12.
Nationally, some ten people have failed to claim more than £11m in cash – so make sure you check your tickets!
