New PS5 stock set to drop imminently on Amazon, Argos and Game, claim tipsters

Gamers are hoping to finally get their hands on a PlayStation 5 with retailers tipped to restock the consoles this week.

Insiders have claimed 20,000 PS5s could soon be on sale in the UK including at GAME, Very and John Lewis from Tuesday.

Tracker @PS5StockAlertUK tweeted: "Major Retailer Predictions – GAME, Very & John Lewis (23rd-25th)… Argos (25th-26th) – Amazon (30th-1st) – Smyths (31st-2nd).

"These are only predictions. Retailers not on this list mean we have no information or expectancies from them. More info soon."

PS5Instant tweeted: "GAME confirmed they're releasing stock this week 9-11am. 20k units – 58.2% Disc and 41.8% Digital this time around.

"Argos aims to release end of this week, however good chance they'll miss and release early next week."

A reported Amazon PS5 restock appears to have lasted only hours on Tuesday with the website now listing the console as unavailable.

GAME was reportedly going to drop PS5 stock "after 9am" but the console is still listed as "out of stock" on the website.

PS5UPDATEUK tweeted: "Keep your eyes peeled around 9 as GAME could drop today!"

Many gamers have been frustrated at short-lived PS5 restocks since the Sony console launched last year.

PlayStation president Jim Ryan last month told the Financial Times that PS5 stock would climb steadily month-on-month, and from July onwards, it will be much easier to get a PS5.

He said: "It will get better every month throughout 2021.

"The pace of the improvement in the supply chain will gather through the course of the year.

Tuesday's restock news comes after Curry's scrapped its first-come-first-served online sales for a new "raffle" system.

The tech retailer's move followed claims that the queue system "unfairly" rewarded those with stronger internet connections and with time to sit online.

Curry's customers can now register for a "priority pass" which enters them into a raffle which in turn gives them a special code that's valid for 72 hours and allows them to make a PS5 purchase.
