Newborn baby found dead in Queens hotel room

A newborn baby died on Wednesday night after being found unconscious in a Queens hotel room, sources said.

The infant child was discovered by cops inside a Days Inn in Long Island City along with her 35-year-old mother at about 7:40 p.m., according to police sources.

Medics performed CPR and rushed the baby to Elmhurst General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

A worker at the hotel said the woman had been living there for months.

“Truly speaking we have never seen the baby. We didn’t know she had a baby in her room,” a concierge told The Post on Wednesday night.

“She was nice. Alone all the time. But she would go out late sometimes to the store.”

The hotel room was in “disarray” and contained drug paraphernalia, the sources said.

The mom, who has been living in the hotel since April, was also taken to Elmhurst where she was being observed for unknown reasons, sources said.

The medical examiner will determine the baby’s cause of death.
