The victim was attack as she travelled on a bus through the busy town centre in South London, at around 1.45pm today.

A spokesman for Lambeth MPS said: "The woman injured on the bus as a result of the suspected noxious substance has been taken to hospital.

"Her condition is not life changing or life threatening. No major burns. Inquiries continue to trace the single male suspect. This appears to be targeted & not random attack."

The incident in Brixton comes hours after Britain suffered Bank Holiday bloodshed, with five people killed over the course of the weekend.
