Prince Harry is set to reunite with older brother William to walk behind Prince Philip’s coffin at his funeral, a source claims.
Buckingham Palace announced on Saturday afternoon that St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle will host the ceremony at 3pm on April 17.
A specially modified Land Rover the duke helped to design will take his coffin from the castle to the chapel, followed by the Prince of Wales and senior royals on foot, a senior Palace official said.
The Queen has approved the Prime Minister's recommendation of national mourning, which started from the news of Philip's death and will run until the day of his funeral.
According to the The Sun a Buckingham Palace insider has confirmed “Harry is planning to attend the funeral”.
The same publication claims sources close to Prince Charles said he was “very happy” his sons will be together following a testing few months.
“I’m sure Charles will be very happy to see his son. It’s been more than a year. The Prince is very much looking forward to seeing him,” the source said.
Due to her pregnancy Harry's wife Meghan Markle will not be accompanying him on the jet over to the UK.
Harry and Meghan’s biographer Omid Scobie has reported: “If there’s anything we know Harry was incredibly close to Philip. This will be a very difficult time for him as he comes to terms with the death.
“Meghan has made every effort to travel but unfortunately, she did not receive medical clearance.”
